Researching new ways to understand spam bots

Hi, I'm current busy reading papers related spams identification and stuff related in social networks.

I've found several papers which interest me which discussed about ways to detect spam posts and possibly assign the degree of severity of the spams. Spam blogs are way much different than spam mails, which is easier to detect, because of its unsolicited nature and the prime motivation of the spammers to push their products to unsuspecting email users.

Spam blogs on the other hand is a completely different beast, and they are very different from each other too. They are the straight forward email spam style blogs which makes no attempt at pushing their 'generic' product to users.

There are another type of blog which its sole point is to aggregate posts from another blog and republish it (mainly because they join contextual advertising network).

And of course the 3rd group (which is quite controversial) is the CnP or one-liner blogger, which often copy and paste most of posts content (with or without citations, linkback) and publish them as if they wrote it themselves.

No matter which group it belongs, it will be interesting to see whether this pattern of spams will continue to evolve.
